A Story About You

No Comments 05 December 2012

There are a handful of professors who stand out from university but most notable were my 2 philosophy professors. The most recent philosophy course I took was on Consequentialism with Darren Domsky. What struck me about him the most was how comfortable he is with himself. He’s so confident, so sure about who he is and he lives that without fear. He taught me so many little life lessons during that semester but one thing which has always stood out was on the first day of class, when he was breaking us up into groups for a discussion and he told us that he wanted us to form different groups because “our Elaine or George could be in that room and if we didn’t meet them, that would be a shame”. Well, as it turns out, I met a great friend of mine, Danielle, in that class, and we still are friends 6 years later.

A few months ago, I received an email from Darren talking about a story he wanted to share with me. I didn’t think much of it at first but after reading it, I was profoundly impacted, much like I still am whenever I read The Awakening. I encourage you to take a few minutes, read his story and reflect on what you feel. It will touch everyone in a different way, but no matter how it touches you, please rate the story when you are done reading it to help make it more visible to others.

A short blurb about the story by Darren, including a link to the story, is below:

As you will see, this story is a story about you. Deal with this however you like. It’s really no one’s business but your own. But first, maybe take a second and write down the exact date and time, right to the exact minute. Maybe hurry, and capture this trophy while you still can. I can’t promise you that you’ll regret it if you don’t. But do I really sound like I’m *guessing*?
